Center Point Contractors is currently seeking a structural steel erection/welding supervisor Job Summary As a Structural Steel Erection/Welding Supervisor, you will oversee welding and fabrication operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications. Your core skills in blueprint reading and hand tools will be essential in guiding your team through complex tasks, while your premium expertise in MIG and stick welding will enhance the quality of work produced. With a focus on effective communication and mechanical knowledge, you will lead renovations and manage resources efficiently, contributing to the successful completion of projects within deadlines. Supervise and coordinate structural steel erection and welding activities on-site.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG and stick welding, while adhering to safety standards.
Oversee the use of power tools and hand tools, ensuring proper maintenance and operation.
Train and mentor team members on welding practices and construction site protocols.
Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
Requirements
Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgement and effective time management in a fast-paced environment with little or no supervision
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints to determine product specifications
Experience with weld symbols and drawings
Ability to lead others to achieve required goals
Supervisory experience
Ability to fit, align and weld steel, structural steel and similar material
3-5+ years welding experience, stick and MIG preferred
Must pass weld test
Safely operate and maintain assigned equipment and tools.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Must be able to work overtime as needed
Minimum of high school diploma, preference to trade school graduate in welding and /or bachelor's degree
