STEEL FABRICATION- CNC ANGLE LINE OPERATOR

SUMMARY
Blue Star Steel is an industry leading steel fabricator in the Intermountain area with 25+ yrs. of experience serving our customer base throughout the USA. Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest level of craftsmanship and provide a productive and rewarding workplace for our employees. Blue Star Steel is accepting applications for an experienced CNC operator to operate our Ocean Clipper Angle Line and assist with our bandsaw line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set-up and operate Ocean Clipper Angle Line for production use
  • Make sure that machine has the proper computer programming and necessary consumables
  • Load and unload material to angle line with cranes and forklifts
  • Check material for accuracy of grade, thickness, and size per the production reports
  • Inspect quality of parts as they come off angle line. Make appropriate adjustments as necessary/
  • Understand the basic functions of the CNC angle line
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance
  • Report issues with CNC operations to supervisor
  • Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 12 months experience; completion of a closely related vocational training course though an accredited school may substitute for the required experience.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

EQUIPMENT USED
Equipment generally used includes but is not limited to overhead cranes, forklifts, hand grinders, CNC machines such as Ocean Clipper angle line

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Close mental and visual applications required to interpret drawing, layout and plan work. Good judgment in determining best method and procedure to be followed. Able to work on jobs while applying safety rules at all times.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
