PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) is leading the way in developing innovative AI-driven solutions that enhance decision-making and improve mission outcomes. As part of our Search Portfolio, you'll help shape the future of information access and insight extraction, working on important applications like GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and JBook Search, all powered by the Advana platform.
You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to YETI, a cutting-edge AI/ML natural language processing (NLP) API designed to harness unstructured data for semantic search, summarization, and deeper insights. This is a chance to work with a talented, collaborative team, tackling complex challenges and creating solutions that have a real, lasting impact across the Do D.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES
- Analyze and assess software development and data processing requirements to determine optimum, cost-effective solutions
- Understand technical requirements, aligning them to business goals and translating into architectures capable of handling complex search queries across collections of large datasets, utilizing the Advana platform
- Support and work with a hybrid team of analyst, engineers, and developers to conduct research, building and deploying complex, but easy-to-use search tools, analytical capabilities and/or devise a plan for development
- Works with data scientists, UX designers, developers and testers to compose cohesive and sound designs that form the basis of scalable solutions
- Optimizes software designs and architectures to deliver desired performance targets and devises tooling and methodologies to profile execution and capture performance metrics
- 5-7 years professional experience in Python and/or R
- 5-7 years professional experience in big data programming languages: Python, Scala or Java
- Direct work with Elasticsearch and related indexing technologies
- Significant experience with AI/ML model development, containerization, and productization
- In-depth understanding of natural language processing (NLP), the use of Large Language Models
- Direct experience with containerized and Apache Spark-based computing environments (e.g. Databricks) for the processing of unstructured text data
- Experience with Graph construction and reasoning, including property graph model frameworks and Neo4J
- Experience with cloud-based computing environments: AWS or GCS and Gov Cloud, C2S, SC2S, UC2S, with follow-on government cloud compute environments
- Professional experience in direct support of military or intelligence community customers with demonstrated progressive technical development and mission-focused outcomes
- Direct work in cyber security compliance, secure software development methodologies and processes for obtaining authority to operate (ATO) on defense and intelligence community networks
- Experience leveraging existing COTS/GOTS/OS tools in unconventional manners
- Must have direct experience Artificial Intelligence (AI), AI systems and software architecture
- Federal Experience
- Experience with Advana
- Bachelor’s Degree (or Master's degree plus 3 years of required experience)
- Active TS Clearance/SCI eligibility
- Ability to commute to Falls Church 2-3 days per week
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and be authorized to work for the Federal government
- Tentative Start Date: Winter 2024/2025
