Education: Degree or certification in civil engineering, drafting, or related field is advantageous but not required.

As a Site Civil Designer, you’ll lead with strong technical skills to solve site development challenges and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. You’ll work on a variety of projects across local, regional, and national levels, serving federal government, local municipal, retail, commercial, healthcare, and industrial clients. This role offers the chance to lead large multi-million dollar projects or oversee numerous smaller projects while mentoring civil designers and technicians.
Key Responsibilities

Utilize Auto CAD & Civil3D software to create and modify site plans, grading and drainage layouts, utility layouts, and construction documents.
Conduct site analysis and integrate topographical surveys and geotechnical data to inform design decisions.
Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to develop project specifications and budgets.
Communicate with clients to understand their needs, present design options, and address concerns.
Perform quality checks and reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and reports.
Provide support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
Stay updated on advancements in Auto CAD & Civil3D software and site civil design practices.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a civil designer, with a strong focus on civil site development.
Proficiency in Auto CAD & Civil3D software.
Strong understanding of site development principles, grading, drainage, paving, site constructability, and utility design.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, DOT, MUTCD, ADAVABA compliance, and permitting processes is a plus.
