RNs - Correctional Facility

Job Summary:
Med First is seeking skilled RNs for full-time positions in correctional facilities in the Columbia, SC area. The ideal RN candidates will be able to use their high-quality nursing skills as part of a team dedicated to providing care to a unique and diverse patient population. Registered Nurse (RN) Job Duties:

Provide direct patient care to inmates, including administering medications, performing phlebotomy procedures, and conducting tube feeding.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient.
Collaborate with other medical professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Perform various medical procedures, including basic life support and wound care.
Provide care specialized care to patients, including geriatric care and behavioral health care.
Work in a Level 1 Trauma Center, providing care to inmates with traumatic injuries.
Provide outpatient care to inmates, including monitoring and reporting on their health status.
Dispense medications to inmates as necessary.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

Must have current South Carolina licensure as an LPN or RN, or compact state licensure
Prior experience in a medical office or correctional facility preferred
Experience in providing medical care in a challenging environment preferred
Must have a strong understanding of medical terminology and be able to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
Must have certification in Basic Life Support
Must be able to pass a background check and obtain any necessary clearances
