Job Title: Recruiter
Division / Department: Human Resources Department Location: Marshalltown, Iowa Reports To: Employment Manager Non-Exempt Status. Full Time.Shift/Hours: Must Be Flexible
The Recruiter is a full-time position that will support the recruitment and integration of new hires into our workforce and community. The recruiter will guide new hires into our workforce and assist in the on-boarding process as they are trained on company policies, work practices, and expectations.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting, selecting, training, evaluating and supervising full-time, entry-level staff positions.
Translating for employees to ensure understanding of key communications.
Advocating for employees, ensuring that their concerns and issues are communicated to management.
Identifying and addressing the housing, medical, and other needs of recent immigrants and/or new hires. Work with property owners/managers on issues associated with transportation, code enforcement, parking, neighbor relations, and local ordinances.
Requirements:
All candidates must be able to work with a diverse population, and have a valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
Flexibility in workplace days/hours will be required to fulfill job expectations
Willingness to travel as needed – recruitment efforts outside the City of Marshalltown, up to a minimum of two-weeks / month
Must be able to communicate with key groups of refugees.
Multilingualism would be considered an asset for this position; or able to communicate effectively with a different ethnic groups
Ability to work independently, with little to no supervision
High level of energy and a positive attitude
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Trustworthy and professional
Previous HR and recruiting experience preferred
Education: A combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in English, journalism, marketing, public relations or communications or related field. Good understanding about the specific needs of immigrants as they integrate into American society
