Reports to: Sr. Quality ManagerResponsibilities
Positively release raw material to production by performing Co A verification and verifying that the incoming RM is only from approved supplier & site.
Coordinate inhouse and third-party analytical testing & micro testing required for positive release.
Monitor & track daily incoming receiving information in the QA receiving log.
Log Co A’s into Manufacturer Co A database in the Quality central server.
Positively release incoming printed packaging by verifying version number or transparencies.
Provide notification to inventory & operation team for any product/lot code that does not meet specifications and generate Notices of Non-Conformance (NNC’s) where required.
Ensure potentially affected materials are placed on incident hold in the ERP system & identified with a hold tag.
Issue CAPA to suppliers and follow up on timely closures.
Coordinate RM spot checks (sensory, analytical & micro) as per the supplier risk.
Perform & coordinate sensory evaluation for positive release to meet customer requirements.
Coordinate shelf-life extensions and maintain all required information on file.
Work closely with inventory Planners to determine what SKU’s or lot codes of raw material require rush testing.
Coordinate inhouse and third-party analytical testing & micro testing required for shelf-life testing.
Update ERP system to reflect extended shelf life & ensure RM tagged with the extended shelf life.
Coordinate RM disposal/destruction, ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
Track Co D’s when RM is sent out for destruction.
Monitor & track documentation for approved supplier in Intelex.
Update or generate Standard Operating Procedures as required.
Assist in collecting Quality metrics as required.
Verify implementation of traceability systems.
Provide support for the suppliers and other audit programs.
Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field is required
Working knowledge of the food environment, Food Safety Systems and the related regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, USDA, FDA)
Working knowledge over Food Safety System (HACCP and other Food Safety program certification)
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, internet)
Superb writing and communication skill
Advance analytical proficiency and use of Microsoft excel
