RESPONSIBILITIES: · Ensure that production targets for material recovery, processing volume, and quality standards are achieved. · Supervise shift production teams, assigning tasks and providing training as necessary for new staff. · Monitor equipment performance, checking both visual and software indicators for any irregularities. · Ensure that materials processed meet required quality standards. · Track and document shift production metrics accurately. · Enforce adherence to safety protocols by all shift employees. · Maintain a thorough understanding of and ensure compliance with environmental, landfill, and stormwater regulations. · Oversee preventive maintenance for heavy media equipment and direct both internal and external maintenance activities, including breakdown repairs. Hands-on support with maintenance tasks as needed. · Collaborate with management and maintenance teams to address complex maintenance issues. · Manage inventory of spare parts and coordinate emergency or preventive maintenance to protect equipment and minimize downtime. · Accurately record daily production volumes, inputting data into spreadsheets and IT systems for reporting and financial analysis. · Ensure the proper pricing of feedstock through accurate production data tracking. · Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely shipment of materials by truck, rail, or barge, meeting all delivery deadlines. · Manage on-shift communication related to in-bound and out-bound material shipments. · Monitor employee attendance and adjust staffing as needed to ensure shift coverage. · Supervise production team performance, providing feedback to improve productivity and address performance gaps. · Ensure employees follow operational procedures and complete required inspection logs for all facility activities (maintenance, cleaning, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or GED required. A bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, or a related field is a plus, or equivalent practical experience. · 3-5 years of recent experience supervising staff in an industrial metal recycling manufacturing or processing environment. · Knowledge of basic welding, mechanical systems, and electrical maintenance is preferred. · Experience managing maintenance tasks and leading maintenance staff. · Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for communication and data tracking.
