At Gordon Food Service, the customer - internal or external - is always at the center of our universe. As a Produce Specialist, you will utilize your knowledge and expertise to provide our divisional (internal) customers with strategic, profit maximizing solutions in fruit, vegetable, and dairy categories. Your focus in this job?

Increase market share and profitability through relevant business and product solutions

Provides consultative selling services on product category with Customer Development Specialist (CDS) and customers as requested to achieve category goals

Develop relationships with key customers, providing product expertise and market intelligence on the categories

Develop, prepare, and present customer presentations on product related solutions
-
Utilize relevant analytical and reporting tools to drive strategies aligned with category goals and initiatives

Participate in food shows and other related activities in support of strategic divisional events

Train the internal Sales team on fruit, vegetable, and dairy product and solutions

Interfaces and collaborates with internal and external customers, brokers, and vendors to achieve sales and margin goals
Does this look like you?

Bachelor degree plus two years previous product, marketing, or internal sales experience -or- six years previous product, marketing, or internal sales experience in lieu of a bachelor degree.

Three to Four years previous sales or marketing experience with emphasis in FRESH fruit, vegetable, and dairy product/category knowledge, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
-
Must maintain a valid, unrestricted state driver’s license and safe driving record per GFS policy

Excellent communication and presentation skills

The ability to travel approximately 80% of the time to visit customers across the Mid-Atlantic sales territory (DE, PA, MD, DC)
