ABOUT US (The Very Brief Version)
Thank you for your interest in working at Back Alley Pizza! Established in 2014, we are a local family-owned brick oven pizzeria that handmakes artisan pizzas. Thanks to the incredible support of Newton, we have been recognized multiple times as one of the best pizzerias in the state of Kansas! We have 4.8 stars on Google with over 900 reviews!
Back Alley Pizza exists to create memories! We do this by providing a pizza experience so amazing that our guests can’t wait to come back and bring their family and friends. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
Base Pay
Part-time Team Members start at $8.00 per hour plus tips while full-time Team Members start at $9.00 per hour plus tips. You can make more money by masterings positions and skills and helping us live the culture we want! Becoming a Shift Manager raises your earning potential.
Benefits
We are excited to announce that through our partnership with the Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association, we are able to offer the following benefits to full-time Team Members: employer-paid telemedicine upon meeting eligibility, an Optum Perks Pharmacy Discount Card, and free access to licensed agents to help you find health insurance.
On top of your base pay are tips. Since we are all out front providing customer service, we pool all daily tips and divide them based on the number of hours you worked that day. While we can’t guarantee tips, we have a strong tip history thanks to our amazing guest base. You can ask about our tip history if we move forward together. The other way to earn cash from Back Alley Pizza is through our referral program. If you know someone who would be a great fit, you can refer them to us. If we hire them, you get a cash bonus on the first day your referral works. It’s a win-win for you and us!
Other rewards we offer include paid onboarding and training, paid breaks, paid meals, and employee discount! We know all this is common these days, but we want you to know these things anyway.

If you work more than 25 hours, we try to provide a fairly predictable scheduling.
If you work less than 25 hours, we try to provide flexible scheduling.

Some of it just depends on the season of life you are in. We like to think we are reasonable people.
We are closed every Sunday and Monday, so you have every Sunday and Monday off. We are also closed all major holidays because we believe family and friend time matter!

We expect that you will make amazing pizzas and provide amazing guest service! Apart from making pizzas and taking care of our guests, you will open and close the pizzeria, prepare food, and clean (we clean a lot). Sometimes other tasks may be assigned, but this will make up most of your days most of the time.
Every pizza ticket needs to be completed in 15 minutes or less (we move quickly!). We expect our operational lists to be completed and on time. You need to be ready to work by the time you are scheduled. We need plenty of notice if something comes up and you can’t work a shift. (Nobody likes Teammates that don’t show up or don’t show up on time.) We also need to know in plenty of time when your availability changes. We can cover the details if we move forward together.
