Job Description: Police Officer under direct supervision of a Supervisor, patrol designated area ensuring compliance with all applicable State Laws and Local Ordinances, answers calls when a crime is suspected or an emergency exists. Takes actions as necessary to prevent crime and/or apprehend a criminal; to maintain safety; to assist citizens in a wide range of emergency and non-emergency situations, and perform other related duties and assignments as required or directed by a Sergeant or the Chief of Police. Job Requirements: Minimum of 21 years of age at time of appointment; have completed or be enrolled in an OPOTC accredited academy and be eligible to be certified as an Ohio Peace Officer; Valid Ohio Driver's License without record of suspension or revocation; in good physical condition as determined by a medical evaluation; Must be a United States citizen. Preferences: Ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, but completion of associate's degree from an accredited college or university program is beneficial.
