The Elmhurst Swim Club of Washington, Pennsylvania is looking to fill a pool manager position responsible for operating the entire swim club complex, oversee the swimming pool employees, and the safety of those who use the facility. This is a seasonal position with most of the work done during summer months. Job Duties:
Hire and supervise all pool personnel to ensure the staff are well-trained and create a safe environment for those who use the facility.
Creation of employee schedules and management of time and hours.
Holds staff meetings as necessary.
Track pool attendance using software and report to Board of Directors monthly.
Handle and document first aid incidents.
Maintain lifeguard rotation and breaks.
Manage discipline and supervise staff by enforcing policies and rules. Document all issues and bring any serious concerns to the attention of Board of Directors.
Maintain positive and friendly public relations.
Conduct in-service training drills to maintain safety standards.
Clean and sanitize swimming pool (includes cleaning pool & backwash filters, skimming pool surfaces, and checking that chemicals in pool are at ideal levels).
Ensure that all equipment (i.e., railings, ropes, pumps, etc.) are in good working order, and provide repair/replacement as needed.
Procure chemicals, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Maintain a clean facility by delegating duties to the staff; including, but not limited to, bathrooms, trash collection (inside and outside the facility), and vacuuming the pool twice a week or more, as needed.
Respond to emergency events as needed at the pool including staffing, customer, and weather-related emergencies.
Work hand in hand with the Operations Manager to assist with any membership issues.
Responsible for coordinating the opening Memorial Day Weekend and closing of the pool each year.
Report any staff or member issues to the Board of Directors.
Oversee the pool on days the facilities are rented and make sure the guests have filled out waivers and have fulfilled the requirements of their contract.
Oversee cleaning of the pool bathrooms and pavilion and concession.
Keep the concession stocked and hand in receipts for any purchases to the Operations Manager monthly.
Set a positive example for the staff to follow
Check and lock all gates at closing time
Help with scheduling of swim team activities and operations as needed.
Oversight of lifeguard classes and training.
Oversee trash removal, landscaping, and any other building and grounds issues with oversight from the Board of Directors.
Requirements:
Experience in pool operation & aquatics a plus.
Management experience.
American Heart Association/Red Cross CPR & Red Cross Standard First Aid
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to provide instructions to employees under his/her supervision and also have excellent organization skills, public relations, and oral & written communication skills.
Ability to assist in manual Labor in extreme weather situations.
Physical exertions include the ability to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects. Also includes climbing in and out of the swimming pool and up & down ladders.
Employees should have the ability to express or exchange by means of verbal and written communications & convey detailed or important instructions to other employees and the general public.
