Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and versatile Open Shift Architect with in-depth knowledge of Red Hat Open Shift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), and Java-based applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, implementing, and managing container platforms using Open Shift, along with extensive experience in PCF and Java enterprise environments. You will play a key role in guiding teams through Application migration/modernization from PCF to Open Shift, containerization best practices, and ensuring seamless container and service bindings in Open Shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and understand the architecture, dependencies, and deployment configurations of existing applications running on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
Plan and execute the migration of applications from PCF to Open Shift, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining application functionality.
Implement the necessary configuration changes and deploy the migrated applications to Open Shift clusters, following best practices for container orchestration and management.
Identify and resolve any issues that arise during and after migration, including deployment failures, container errors, and platform-specific problems in the Open Shift environment.
Fine-tune applications and container settings for optimal performance, scalability, and efficient resource utilization in the Open Shift platform.
Implement security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), secrets management, and compliance with corporate policies during and after the migration process.
Work closely with development, Dev Ops, and operations teams to ensure smooth migration, provide clear documentation for the Open Shift environment, and offer support post-migration.
Required Qualifications:
Overall 15+ years of IT experience
5+ years of experience in designing and architecting enterprise container platforms, with 2+ years of experience with Red Hat Open Shift and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
Strong expertise in Java enterprise application development, including Spring, Hibernate, and Java EE.
Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration for Java applications.
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and hybrid/multi-cloud strategies.
Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.
Deep understanding of Linux systems administration, networking principles, and Java application performance tuning.
Familiarity with cloud-native patterns, microservices, and Java application modernization strategies.
Scripting languages like shell / Helm chats modules
Experience in Java based batch applications, ETL processing and Autosys
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $40.45/hour - $63.20/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
