Nursery Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and outdoor work, with a willingness to learn and contribute to the growth and maintenance of our nursery. This role involves hands-on work in a greenhouse environment, assisting with various tasks related to plant care and nursery operations.
Responsibilities

Delivery of plants to company job sites with company equipment.
Help with loading and securing plants onto trailers and then unloading plants at job sites.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck and nursery trailers.
Additional farm responsibilities listed below:
Perform heavy lifting as needed for moving plants, soil, and equipment.
Support lawn care activities as required, including mowing, blowing and edging of nursery.
Participate in outdoor work activities to ensure the overall upkeep of nursery grounds.
Work with other farm staff to start and finish farm related projects.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a farm or gardening environment is preferred but not required.
Basic math skills for measuring soil and calculating fertilizer needs.
Familiarity with plant identification is a plus.
Mechanical knowledge to operate basic gardening equipment effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as part of daily duties.
Strong work ethic with a commitment to teamwork and safety practices in an outdoor setting.
Willingness to learn new skills related to horticulture and nursery management.
