Chapel Hill MDO and Preschool is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and experienced individual to join our Mother's Day Out program and preschool team as a teacher for our awesome 2-3 year olds, maximum of 10 children in the class and a co-teacher. FRIDAYS OFF! We follow a school year calendar and are closed when the metro schools are closed. We are open for summer on a condensed schedule. We love what we do! Come see what we are all about. Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the developmental needs of 2-3 year olds, focusing on age-appropriate activities such as play-based learning, arts and crafts, music, and early literacy.
Provide a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration. Able to walk, stand, sit, kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, and interact successfully with all children and have the ability to lift 40 lbs.
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times, both in the classroom and on the playground. Must follow all licensing requirements.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing daily updates on the child’s progress, activities, and any concerns.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Mother’s Day Out and preschool programs.
Foster positive social, emotional, and cognitive development in young children through nurturing care and guidance.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working with young children (2-3 years old) in a preschool or MDO setting, and experience working in a licensed childcare facility is strongly preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a love for working with children.
Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or required).
