Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity, and requires a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are a multi-state, multi-entity healthcare company that is currently using 3rd party billing services. We are exploring whether we can recruit the right candidate to in-house our billing. We do not have the billing infrastructure in place at the moment, and the successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge and ability to put the infrastructure in place, and begin performing billing activities for us. The successful candidate will need to hire 2 or 3 additional individuals to help manage all aspects of the billing workflow. Finanical incentives and compensation will mirror the success of the operation, with significant upside opportunity. Additional details below:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding and submission of medical claims, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is crucial for the financial health of our medical practice and requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures. Duties
Review patient records and documentation to ensure accuracy in billing.
Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and DRG for accurate billing practices.
Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Experience
Previous experience as a medical biller in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred - Laboratory and Pathology is greatly preferred.
Familiarity with medical records management, collections, and billing processes is essential.
Proficiency in medical coding, including knowledge of ICD-10 codes and DRG classifications.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
