Medical Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide essential support to healthcare professionals in a variety of medical settings. Your role will involve assisting with patient care, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operations within the medical facility. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:
  • Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care, including taking vital signs, documenting patient history, and preparing examination rooms.
  • Conduct initial patient screenings, including gathering medical history and verifying patient information.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Provide patient education on various health topics, medications, and treatment plans as instructed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies as needed.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members to optimize patient care delivery.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
  • Able to work Monday, Tuesdays & Thursdays.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred .
  • Prior experience working in a medical office or urgent care setting is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic anatomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus.
