They are responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating Forklifts: Safely operate forklifts to transport materials, products, and goods within the facility.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and storage racks using the forklift, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
- Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.
- Material Handling: Handle materials with care to prevent damage and ensure that fragile or hazardous items are handled appropriately.
- Warehouse Organization: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse by properly storing materials and products.
- Communication: Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate the movement of materials and fulfill orders.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on forklifts and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift driver.
- Knowledge of forklift operations and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
