Position Summary: Responsible for providing day-to-day technical and project management oversight, direction and mentoring to project managers and production staff. Assist with client contacts, assuring that client needs are met, actively participate in decision- making processes by evaluating and communicating the impact of operational decisions and business opportunities, support development of and assist in monitoring revenue projections and expense expenditures.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee operational activities of field staff and all operations personnel to assure high performance, productivity, quality assurance, safety, and compliance. Coordinate the planning and execution of day-to-day operations.
- Develop and meet design schedule, including quality and budget constraints as set forth in the project’s scope of service.
- Ensure that established company procedures and standards for conducting operations work, documentation and operational client management are adhered to. Provide QA/QC per company policies for all work conducted by team members.
- Assign operations personnel to project teams in concert with Project Managers and job requirements. Effectively manage resources to ensure labor, resource, and financial commitments are met within respective region. Contribute to the development of annual operational budget and staffing plans.
- In partnership with Project Managers, monitor project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Identify, analyze, and evaluate errors with engineering, field staff, and mapping to provide necessary expertise for resolution.
- Make recommendations regarding processes or policy to remedy systemic errors within the operations department. Responsible for continuous improvement of operations processes and standards.
- Assess staffing needs and partner with the People and Culture team to recruit, retain, and manage the performance of team members.
- Coordinate and, in some cases, conduct training and development of regional personnel.
- Conduct department meetings on a regular basis and issues minutes to departmental staff. Authorize overtime, vacations, and indirect activities in the department.
- Assist the VP, Operations in developing near/long-term goals and strategies to deliver operational excellence in support of company objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or combination of post-secondary education and related experience.
Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in telecommunications/broadband in roles with supervisory responsibilities.
- Prior experience in a leadership role with demonstrated success motivating teams, making key business and people decisions, and guiding the regional organization toward achievement of operational goals.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and budgeting, and forecasting skills for efficient and effective utilization of resources and ability to make informed decisions to achieve financial targets.
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge of Finley’s business and operations as well as industry knowledge related to rural broadband and/or energy.
Physical requirements and environmental factors:
- Work is primarily computer work, and most assignments are performed in an office type environment.
- Flow of work involves normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination much of the time.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Travel approximately 20% of the time.
