Maintenance Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all equipment and facilities are operating efficiently. The maintenance technician will also conduct the work necessary and execute results in the general maintenance department by maintaining and repairing machines, electrical systems, structures and facilities. Assist in informing leadership of cost effective, safe practices as they relate to equipment utilized. Respond to maintenance calls as needed in addition to daily routine maintenance tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.

Duties
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on various equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Conduct welding tasks as required for repairs or modifications.
  • Ensure quality of repairs, methods applications, scheduling of work is feasible with work team available, assist in layout changes, assist in determining the cause of malfunctions and the extent and nature of repairs and types of materials or parts needed.
  • Plan and organize assigned work to utilize skills and ability
to obtain the most favorable repair costs, quality of workmanship, and to
prevent interruption of production schedules.

  • Work closely with Production to schedule opportune times to make repairs.
  • Assist in determining the need for and extent of repairs, maintaining stock repair
parts, requisition needed parts through purchase or work order system, and plan
for and schedule repairs. Work with the Maintenance Manager to review work and your supervisor will make the purchases.

  • Coordinate the preventive maintenance activities of the Company.
  • Experience using conveyors that handle raw ingredients and packaging lines to ensure they comply with health regulations and operate efficiently.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting and commissioning VFD units by reviewing
electrical connections to ensure proper application of electrical equipment.
  • Able to weld and assemble metal pieces and products by using handheld welding equipment.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques is preferred.
  • Leadership skills with experience supervising a team is a plus.
  • Familiarity with logic controllers and their applications in maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to perform residential painting tasks as part of facility upkeep.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Qualifications:
Position requires a minimum of a high school or vocational school graduate. Special trades
coursework in including but not limited to electronics, electrical, HVAC,
pneumatic, hydraulic principles and other trade basics beneficial.

Health and Safety:
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as needed
for maintenance activities, the ability to walk long distances as needed for
production requirements, tolerance to cold temperatures,
and the ability to work on and around wet concrete floors that may be coated
with chlorinated water. These individuals
will work with varying types of energy including but not limited to
electronics, HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric. Required to wear
issued Personal Protective Equipment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
