Maintenance Groundskeeper I

Position Title: Maintenance Groundskeeper I
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Closing Date: November 22, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a high school Diploma or equivalent.

Summary of Duties:

Upkeep of lawns, tree trimming, landscaping and maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance of all UTTC property. This may include to perform tasks such as pruning trees, cutting shrubs.
Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment such as lawn mowers, rakes, trimmers, weed whackers, trimmers and other;
Ensures campus is neat and attractive in appearance at all times;
Mow, edge, weed trim hedges and other related tasks;
Blow and sweep sidewalks, stairs, porches, and parking lots weekly if not daily;
Seed and fertilize as needed;
Ensures completion of projects in accordance with assignments given by supervisor;
Assist with general maintenance as assigned;
Assist with snow removal;
Assists with changing light bulbs as needed;
Requests supplies or materials for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensures availability of items required;
Performs other duties as assigned, which includes a minimum of 8 hours for Special Events.

Working Conditions:

Shift work is work that takes place on a schedule outside normal working hours of Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with one hour of unpaid lunch.
Shifts maybe early morning, late morning, evening, night shifts, and rotating shifts.
Additional hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb a ladder.
Must be able to stand or bend for hours at a time; and
Must be competent with groundskeeping tools.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of tools and equipment to perform duties.
Must be able to work well with others.
