Long Term Substitute - Upper School Health Teacher
Bullis School seeks a Long-Term Substitute Upper School Health Teacher beginning March 15, 2025, through June 6, 2025 (exact start date to be determined).The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success as an upper school teacher and be capable of implementing a robust and engaging health curriculum. Health classes at Bullis aim to positively influence the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of students to promote a healthier lifestyle during adolescence and beyond. Responsibilities include teaching five sections of Health in the upper school. This is a temporary, full-time, benefits-ineligible position reporting to the Director of Health and Wellness. Essential Functions:
Responsible for teaching five Health classes from March 15 - June 6, 2025
Design and develop health curriculum content as needed
Build student skills to make healthy and responsible choices and achieve balance in their lives
Use technology to engage students in active, experiential, and hands-on learning
Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with Bulliss instructional philosophy
Attend division and department meetings
Stay up to date on current pedagogical practices and field-related trends
Communicate with parents, school counselors, and administrators about students progress, as needed and appropriate.
Design and implement assessments that measure progress toward academic standards and provide timely feedback to students
Use the student learning management system to provide feedback, grades, and assignments to students.
Other Duties:
Serve as an advisor on a grade-level team
Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Health and Wellness

Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelors Degree in public health or related field
Preferred:
Masters Degree in Health Education or related field
Minimum of two years teaching experience in secondary education
