As a lead life underwriter for Progressive Life, you’ll support the continuous development of Progressive's Life Insurance product. In this role, you'll collaborate with the underwriting team on underwriting rules and manuals for our current and future life insurance products. Additionally, you'll assist with refining existing rules and manuals, introduce and implement new data sources, and create monitoring methodologies and processes.

Must-have qualifications
- High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of 11 years underwriting experience with a direct US life insurance company or a US life reinsurance company
- {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of 8 years underwriting experience with a direct US life insurance company or a US life reinsurance company
Preferred skills
- Solid knowledge of insurance contract law and state legislative requirements
- Strong knowledge of insurance products (plans, riders, benefits) and illustrations and how they are marketed
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance marketplace to work proactively with the field where reinsurance is an opportunity
- Thorough understanding of automatic reinsurance agreements
- Highly developed knowledge of medical science, technology and terminology and their impact on mortality
- Highly developed knowledge of financial and other non-medical underwriting factors
Compensation
- $95,000 - $135,000/year
- Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
