We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love for reading and learning within the community. Responsibilities
Manage library collections through effective cataloging and metadata practices.
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patrons with inquiries and guiding them in resource utilization.
Develop and implement engaging programs and events that promote literacy and community involvement.
Oversee budgeting for library resources and programs, ensuring efficient allocation of funds.
Utilize integrated library systems to manage inventory, track usage, and generate reports.
Conduct archival processing for historical documents and materials, ensuring proper preservation techniques.
Engage in project management to plan, execute, and evaluate library initiatives.
Maintain the library’s online presence through social media management, promoting events and resources.
Explore grant writing opportunities to secure funding for library projects and enhancements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficiency in integrated library systems and digital resource management.
Experience in budgeting, project management, or grant writing is highly desirable.
Familiarity with archival processing techniques is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
