Founded in 2000, Hope Christian School is a ministry of Hope Baptist Church. Located on the southeastern side of Hanover, HCS is located on the edge of Spring Grove and Southwestern School Districts. It exists to to train up children in the way they should go, not only spiritually but educationally.
Job Name: Kindergarten Teacher
Job Description: Hope Christian School is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Kindergarten Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 academic year ( possibly sooner), and/or beyond! This in-person, full-time role is centered on providing a traditional, distinctly-Christian education with a worldview that prepares students to make a positive impact in the world. As a ministry, our educators are expected to be deeply involved in both church and school life, fostering an environment of growth and faith. Job Requirements:

Ability to adapt to the provided teaching tools and environment
Basic computer skills are expected to navigate our Learning Management System (LMS), My School Works, and to effectively utilize any educational software provided by the school.
Employing Christian curriculum (currently BJU Press) as a guide and reference point from which to direct teaching
Being patient, kind, and a godly example to your students
To teach in a traditional school classroom in a relatively traditional way
To employ multiple modes of teaching to engage all types of learners
To spark curiosity through projects and engaging learning experiences
To ascertain educational progress and aptitude through testing
To enforce the application of learned concepts in various ways (including homework if deemed appropriate)
To kindly deal with coworkers and fellow staff members

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience preferred but not required
Experience in ministering and nurturing young minds

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
Willingness to become certified through KCEA during the employment period

Salary: $30,000 - $35,000 annually

Physical Requirements:

Ability to engage with young children at their level
Comfortable with standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
Capable of lifting and carrying classroom materials
Capable of leading and assisting children to safety in the case of emergency of any sort

Other Requirements:

Must be a member of our specific church community (Hope Baptist Church)
Must be willing to follow a code of conduct, BOTH ON AND OFF CAMPUS
Must be willing to follow a dress code policy
Must consistently conduct one’s self in such a way that one honors both the Bible and the School standards of conduct (derived in part from the same).
