River Valley Resources, Inc is seeking a K-12 Career Coach to join our JAG Team!! The K-12 Career Coach provides college and career curriculum and support to local elementary schools within Region 9. ● Attend training to become a certified Career Coach ● Create opportunities for students at local elementary schools (Prek-5) to develop skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving through group projects, presentations, and extracurricular activities. ● Maintain a positive relationship with school and staff as a guest in their space ● Expose local elementary students to experiences in self-awareness, financial literacy, career exploration, & work-ready skills. ● Encourage students to take on leadership roles in school clubs, sports teams, and community service projects to help them build confidence. ● Assist local elementary schools to foster a college going culture ● Talk about careers within the community, including unfamiliar jobs, and make connections between activities, interests, and play. Incorporate career conversations into books or subject matter learning. ● Present information to families regarding Indiana 529 College Savings Plan ● Assist in guiding high school students to develop and present lessons for PK- grade 5 students ● Assists teachers in guiding young children in career planning and career decision making process ● Develop and implement PBL at the elementary level ● Other duties as assigned Experience ● Must have 2 years experience working with youth or coaching others. Skills/ Abilities ● Ability to provide positive, outstanding client services ● Ability to maintain confidentiality ● Ability to interact positively with a variety of personalities and socio-economic populations ● Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to fellow team members is essential ● Problem solving skills, organizational skills, time management skills and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential ● Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications are required, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, email and internet applications Travel will be required therefore a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured motor vehicle is required. There is a 90 day probationary period Drug screening and background check will be conducted upon offer of employment and may be required in various school systems as well.
