Hospital Laboratory Technician II - Burbank(Part-Time)

Description
As a Laboratory Technician 2 at the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Burbank, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations and providing high-quality phlebotomy services. Your duties will include:

Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
Prepare specimens for analysis.
Assist in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays.
Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information.
Enter and verify patient and test info into computer.
Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.
Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.
Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.
Provide coverage as necessary to other draw stations.

Salary Range: $32.77 - $43.22/hour

Qualifications

A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification.
High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or Hi SET).
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate).
Ability to work at other draw stations as needed (e.g. Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks, and Century City).
Availability to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS).
Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred.
