Sunbelt is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) to join our team and support the health and wellness of our students. The Certified School Nurse will provide nursing care, manage chronic health conditions, respond to health emergencies, and promote a healthy school environment. This role is critical in fostering a safe and supportive educational experience for all students at this school in Cortland, Illinois.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Nursing Care: Provide first aid, emergency care, and manage illnesses or injuries for students and staff.
- Health Assessments: Conduct health screenings, including vision, hearing, and other mandated assessments. Collaborate with school staff and parents to interpret results and plan follow-up actions.
- Chronic Disease Management: Develop and oversee care plans for students with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, or epilepsy, and ensure staff are informed of necessary precautions.
- Health Education: Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics and wellness initiatives, fostering a culture of health and safety.
- Immunization Compliance: Maintain records of immunizations, ensuring compliance with state and local health requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administration to address student health needs and coordinate with community healthcare providers as needed.
- Record Keeping: Document all care provided, manage student health records, and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
- Infection Control: Monitor and control communicable diseases within the school, adhering to public health guidelines and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: Certified School Nurse (CSN) License in Illinoisrequired.
