Hiring Coordinator

About the role: The Hiring Coordinator will be directly involved with hiring retail employees for our 40+ dispensary locations in Oregon. The Hiring Coordinator will assist with posting new jobs on our hiring platforms, reviewing applications and resumes, conducting pre-screening phone calls to determine a prospect’s eligibility and availability, and interviewing qualified applicants in-person at our training facility. This position will also consist of various hiring related tasks such as new hire onboarding, sending offer letters, scheduling training classes, and other office duties.

Title: Hiring Coordinator
Pay Rate: $24/hour with a pay increase to $25/hour after 90 days.
Reports to: Hiring/Training Manager
Schedule/Hours: Full-time. Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
Location: On-site at our Hiring/Training Facility. (NE Portland)
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the team to assess the company’s hiring needs to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Utilizing our ATS and our company website to post new job openings.
  • Sorting and labelling applications for the appropriate locations they are applying for.
  • Reviewing resumes and qualifications of applicants for various positions.
  • Tracking applicant’s hiring process via Microsoft Outlook and Excel documents.
  • Maintain databases of candidate records, including active and passive prospects.
  • Conducting pre-screening calls to determine availability and applicant details.
  • Scheduling and conducting in-person interviews out of our Training Facility.
  • Assisting with virtual interviews via Microsoft Teams for out-of-state hiring as needed.
  • Assist other departments in all of the actions related to hiring (job postings, offer letters, etc.)
  • Reviewing applicant’s interview notes with the Hiring Manager to determine if they are approved.
  • Working with the Training Manager to schedule each round of new hires for in-person training dates.
  • Some class preparation tasks such as gathering onboarding materials and printing employee badges.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain an OLCC Marijuana Worker’s Permit.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience in hiring and recruiting roles is a must.

  • Maintains professionalism when communicating to applicants and departments.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Can effectively review resumes with discernment, while remaining unbiased.
  • Adaptable - can switch gears and workflow to support the department’s needs.
  • Receptive and open to feedback from manager, as well as coworkers.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company and the industry.
Compensation:
  • Compensation for this role may vary depending on the candidate’s level of experience.
  • The base pay starts at $24/hour with a pay increase to $25/hour after 90 days.
