Minimum Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in general highway maintenance and related equipment operations
CDL with Class A or willingness to obtain a license in the first six months of employment
Experience with rollers, tractor mowers, front-end loaders and motor graders
Knowledge of industrial safety rules, regulations and procedures as they apply to different types of equipment
Understanding of how to maintain effective working relationships with others. Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures applicable to the machines used, including trucks and hydraulic attachments
Job Duties:
Repair drainage systems
Perform maintenance activities, such as patching, sealing, graveling, & bridge maintenance, to maintain and extend service of roads and bridges according to department policy
Mow grass with large lawn-type mowers and with tractors towing blade-type mowers, keeping road shoulders and ditches mowed maintaining short, clean cut according to department policy
Operate front-end loaders and motor graders for snow and ice control activities, keeping roads in assigned area in excellent driving condition according to department policy
Make adjustments to equipment as operating conditions require
Maintain safe working conditions
Equipment maintenance
Shop repairs
Other duties as assigned
