DATE POSTED: 8/30/2024 JOB TITLE: Groundskeeper II RECRUITMENT NO: KCH 24-175 JOB STATUS: Permanent/Full-Time-100% FTE LOCATION: Kona Community Hospital- Plant Maintenance SALARY: $4,514/month (WS02; BU01) JOB DUTIES: The primary purpose of this position is to supervise a work crew, schedules daily work assignments and participates in a variety of manual work duties in the care, cleaning and maintenance of Hospital, Nurses Quarters, and staff house grounds including lawns, landscaped areas and paved areas. THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week. EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
Two (2) years of full-time work experience in the care and maintenance of grounds and other landscaped areas; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

DESIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of care and cultivation of shrubs, flowers, trees, and lawns, use of operation of grounds maintenance equipment such as power lawns, edges, trimmers, and hand tools used in grounds maintenance work. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; use of hand and power tools used in grounds maintenance; operate light motorized equipment, care for plants, trees and landscaped areas, perform lifting, carrying and other manual work typical of the class.
