SUMMARY Under the direction of the Wood Shop Supervisor or Lead, the Framer is responsible for the safe and efficient assembly of wood frames using a variety of hand tools and power tools. Farmers are required to work forty hours a week and flexible for overtime as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives cut plywood from router operator.
Sorts wood in order to assemble maintenance adjustments such as cleaning filters.
Reads diagrams of styles and sku’s to determine appropriate procedures for attaching parts.
Operates hand tools, nail guns, staple guns.
Count and report rejected parts (notify assistant supervisor)
Clean and maintain work area.
All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Manual dexterity with the ability to operate hand and power tools including nail guns, staple guns.
Ability to work independently.
Flexibility to work a changing work schedule according to production demands.
Ability to work collaboratively with among departments.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work in cold and hot environments (non-climate controlled)
Ability to work with strict deadlines.
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
Ability to work in a production environment using safety equipment including
Protective eyewear, ear plugs and safety gloves as required.
EFFORT
Continuous standing for extended periods of time (minimum 10-hour shift)
Frequent lifting and turning using arms and torso (minimum 10-hour shift)
Frequent bending, pushing, leaning, and twisting (minimum 10-hour shift)
Minimum requirements
Five years of production/framing experience
Ability to read diagrams and drawings.
