In this vital role, you'll ensure the safety of our communities by troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading fire alarm systems in various buildings. Your expertise will keep these critical systems functioning flawlessly, ready to protect lives in an emergency.
What you'll do:
- Diagnose and resolve issues with fire alarm systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
- Complete small project installations, including upgrading or replacing fire alarm equipment to maintain optimal system performance.
- Analyze work orders, plan your daily schedule, and effectively communicate with customers to understand their concerns.
- Conduct tests, troubleshoot fire alarm system issues, and determine the best solutions to resolve them efficiently.
- Accurately track your work by updating service tickets with billable time and materials.
To be successful, you'll need:
- 5+ years of experience in fire life safety troubleshooting, service and support.
- Possess a valid EST-3 certification (or be able to obtain it within one year).
- Minimum education requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California Driver License (or ability to obtain one) and proof of auto insurance.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
- Must be able to get required vaccinations/immunizations.

TRL Systems, Inc. conducts pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations. In addition to having many clients (hospitals, schools, etc.) who require background checks, as a federal contractor TRL is also required to complete a background check for any employee who may work on a federal contract in any capacity. Work Environment:
- Be prepared for a variety of work locations, including construction sites, commercial buildings, high-rise/mid-rise buildings, and medical facilities (with potential patient contact).
- The role may require occasional work at heights, in extreme temperatures, and in confined spaces.
- This role involves physical activity such as driving for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, lifting equipment (occasionally up to 20 lbs), and prolonged standing or sitting.
