Summary:
Analyzes, accounts for, and monitors third party reimbursement for Medicare and Medicaid ensuring maximum reimbursement and that appropriate governmental rules and regulations are followed. Responsible for all journal entries associated with the monthly financial statement close process as it pertains to revenue and patient receivables as well as analysis of results for correctness and completeness. Assists with subsidiary reporting as it pertains to revenue, contractual adjustments, and patient receivables. Assists in preparing the Net Revenue Budget. Assists in preparing various annual cost reports filings and schedules that support the annual filing of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports as well as subsequent audits of the documents. Also acts in a support role for the Patient Accounting department to provide information and guidance as it pertains to operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or closely related field of study.
2. Experience & Training Required:
a. Five (5) years professional accounting experience. Two years of prior hospital reimbursement and cost reporting experience necessary.
3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Possesses analytical skills to analyze complex technical information and federal and state regulations.
b. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data.
c. Ability to work well within a team environment.
d. Demonstrate a customer service attitude.
e. Personal computer skills or the willingness and ability to acquire such skills to operate application packages (e. g. worksheet, database, and word processing) used by the department.
f. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

$33.66/hr - $50.49/hr The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
