Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher provides specialized instruction for the purposes of developing English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while utilizing appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies considering the English learners’ current proficiency levels. The ESL teacher serves as a school resource by providing classroom teachers with support and information specific to English Language Learners (ELLs).

Alternative Licensed Pathways:
If you are offered a position with BCS, our licensure specialist can share information on the
1-year Emergency License and later work with you to convert this to a Residency License. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 18 semester hours of relevant coursework
- 2.7 GPA (undergraduate coursework or post-graduate coursework)
- Ability to produce an official, degree dated transcript from an accredited university
- Former Lateral Entry license candidates are eligible to apply
