Job description The Emergency Response Technician-Contractor (ERT Tech) is responsible for responding to all emergency events on Manassas Micron site. The ERT Technician applies basic decision-making skills and performs job tasks by following standard procedures and guidelines. Responsibilities and Tasks:
Monitor and conform to Emergency Response standards in accordance with federal and state codes and regulations.
Perform surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations of all required equipment and systems owned by the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Maintain medical and training qualification for the site respirator program.
Perform routine and intermediate troubleshooting during emergency response events.
Manage the daily operational tasks required of the team.
Participate in rescue operations and provide emergency medical care.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with all customers and team members all relevant information.
Inform Supervisor/Host of progress of assigned work as appropriate.
Communicate to team members all emergency response activities for the day through verbal and written pass-down processes.
Participate in safety discussions, training and safe work practices
Participate in team building drills and activities
Assist with other ERT team members on tasks and/or projects as needed
Ensure that work areas are kept clean and orderly
Contractor Work Schedule:
Contractor is expected to work Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday from 0645-1900hrs until training is completed.
Work schedule after training is determined by site and team needs.
Contractor is allowed and expected to sign up for open ERT shifts to help maintain minimum staffing.
Contractor will be expected to work assigned shift and possibly then get asked to cover a night shift call out.
Contractor may request time off and is expected to follow ERT procedures in doing so.
Contractor is expected to follow ERT staffing expectations and dress code.
Licenses and Certificates:
Required - Virginia EMT-B or National Registry EMT (must obtain Virginia State EMT-B within 30 days of hire)
