EDI Analyst - Columbus, Ohio

The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We have an open EDI Analyst opportunity. The EDI Analyst will support the company by building and testing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes. The EDI Analyst will work with internal teams and our trading partners on the setup and configurations of these processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Will create, test, and analyze Sterling Integrator (SI) business functions within a JAVA development framework
Will troubleshoot and maintain existing EDI configurations and support the team as needed with various tasks in SI and legacy EDI system.
Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, and will troubleshoot and maintain existing EDI configurations and support the team as needed with various tasks in SI and legacy EDI system.
Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, developing systems and procedures.
Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.
Consults and coordinates with systems analysts and programmers to design and develop automated business systems.
Develops, coordinates and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.
Consults with business unit management and personnel to test business and functional processes during system development and evaluate alternatives.
May help direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install and modify programs.
Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.
Creates or assists others in the writing of user documentation, instructions and procedures.
Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of two years of in-depth experience with EDI in a corporate setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in the following disciplines:

EDI X.12 standard transaction sets – 810, 850, 855, 856, and 997, CSML, CSV, Flat file format
Knowledge of API, FTP, S/FTP, AS2, VAN communications and other communication services
SI/Sterling Integrator 6.2 Mapper
Unit testing with maps
Trading Partner Specifications, SAP IDoc Specifications, and other partner specific file requirement specifications
