Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a Director, Volunteer Services who will direct and manage the operations of Volunteer Services in support of the vision, mission, and programs of Nashville Rescue Mission. The primary responsibility of the Director will be to provide volunteers with a meaningful experience while supporting the organization in all aspects of interacting and communicating with them. Position Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

You Are Organized And Detail-Oriented Being detail-oriented isn’t a sound bite; it’s one of your strongest qualities. You have a talent for creating and maintaining systems to sustain the Mission's volunteer program at every phase of the volunteer engagement cycle. You enjoy the process of data tracking, including volunteer scheduling and background check results. It’s the attention to data that allows you to fine-tune your practices and ramp up volunteer retention. You are smart, organized, and a friendly face who can manage multiple duties while also taking exceptional care of our volunteers.

Essential Duties:
Leads and manages volunteer recruitment, onboarding, placement, scheduling, supervision, retention, and recognition.
Acquires, builds, and maintains successful and meaningful volunteer relationships.
Evaluates the volunteer needs of each department and recruits quality people.
Oversees and updates volunteer management system.
Reviews and processes volunteer background screenings.
Provides updated volunteer schedules to Operations department (daily) and Development department (monthly).
Manages volunteer data and reporting.
Directs, supervises, develops, and evaluates volunteers.
Provides on-going training and support for department volunteer schedulers.
Displays comprehensive knowledge of the Mission’s statistical information when leading campus tours.
Coordinates volunteer activities for all events including, but not limited to Good Friday, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving Eve/Day, and Christmas Eve/Day.
Collaborates with the Development department in order to support the fundraising and financial development goals of Nashville Rescue Mission.
Other Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned by Vice President/Senior Management.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.; bachelor's degree preferred; 3-5 years related experience preferred
Supervisory experience preferred
Excellent reading and writing skills; typing/computer usage; strong interpersonal relations and communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and volunteer management systems
Ability to qualify as a designated Mission vehicle driver under Nashville Rescue Mission's insurance policy:
Valid driver's license
Have no more than two moving violations in a 3-year period or more than one accident in a 1-year period
