Position Summary: The Director,Technical Product Management leads the development, growth and optimization of our Net Suite & Shopify-based technology ecosystem. In this hands-on managerial role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the online shopping experience, in-store checkout experience, and business-sales experience for our customers across channels, and the end-to-end user experience for our internal teams. You will lead cross-functional teams to define product strategy and roadmap, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and manage third party tools and vendors to optimize the platform. You will oversee the Net Suite Administrator and the Shopify Platform Team, while working closely with Information Technology and other cross-functional teams to optimize processes and minimize friction. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the Shopify & Net Suite platforms that aligns with Simon Pearces overall business goals.
Roadmap Ownership: Create and maintain a prioritized product roadmap and backlog, considering potential impact, consumer and user needs, resource availability, strategic importance, and level of effort. Ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead a collaboration with ecommerce, sales, planning, marketing, creative, accounting, production, and customer care to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver technical solutions that enable business objectives.
Performance Analysis: Analyze data and metrics to inform product decisions, identify opportunities for improvement, and to measure the impact of product changes. Use A/B testing and other techniques to validate assumptions and optimize performance.
Program Management: Own relationship with our third party development partners, including managing resources, timelines, and budgets effectively.
Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and apps to leverage best-in-class technologies that enhance our Shopify, Celigo, and Net Suite platforms.
Optimize Customer and User Experience: Using a customer and user-centric mindset, continuously improve CX/UX and ingest feedback to create an exceptional experience.
Platform Maintenance: Oversee the use of our internal issue reporting/ticketing system, including triaging and resolving issues, training internal users on platform features, and escalating to Shopify, Celigo and Net Suite, and/or to our development partners to see issues through to resolution.
Platform Enhancement: Stay current on Platform updates and industry trends to take advantage of new opportunities.
Process Documentation: Oversee development of SOPs and processes to streamline repeated work (e.g. new product launches and promotions), to ensure platform integrity (e.g. data, catalog, and user audits, sandbox/production alignment), and for QA as new features are implemented.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, business or related field, or equivalent experience
8-10 years of technical product leadership or relevant experience, including a demonstrable track record of shipping, launching, and operating digital products in the Direct-to-Consumer space.
Experience developing technical product strategy for Ecommerce platforms, including development of SMART goals and strategic vision for an end-to-end ecosystem.
Passion for building great online consumer shopping experiences, including using data, market, and user research to drive decision making.
Track record of developing, executing, and owning multi-platform 6/12/36 month Product Roadmap. Experience integrating multiple individual product roadmaps with prioritizing overarching roadmap to ensure strategy adherence and address precursor milestone demands.
Experience validating technical feasibility and scalability of product solutions, working closely with partner development teams to make informed decisions.
Experience communicating with C-suite on strategic vision, milestone progress, and platform goals.
Qualifications Desired:
3-5 years experience with Shopify platform, including application ecosystem.
Experience owning portfolio of managed service providers, including external development firms and Saa S providers.
Experience managing and leading 2-5 technical product managers, providing cohesive top-down strategic needs, maximizing their strengths, and developing areas of opportunity.
Experience working with and integrating into ERP platforms, Net Suite preferred.
An informed perspective on data platforms and analysis tool sets such as Tableau, Looker, etc.
Experience working with modern development tracking tools such as Asana
High degree of comfort working in software development frameworks (Agile, Kanban).
