Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in memory care, dementia care, and working with people with disabilities, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.
Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
Provide support for individuals with memory care and dementia-related needs, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to appropriate personnel.
Uphold resident rights by advocating for clients and ensuring their dignity is maintained at all times.
Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, promoting a healthy environment.
Engage clients in social activities to foster community involvement and enhance their quality of life.
Document client progress and any significant changes in behavior or health conditions accurately.

Experience

Previous experience in long-term care or as a caregiver is preferred.
Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Knowledge of patient care practices, including vital signs monitoring and basic medical assistance.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to provide the best care possible.
