We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Development Associate on our Minot campus. This is a full-time (40 hrs), benefited position.
What you will do: The Development Associate is an essential member of the Foundation as they provide support and resources to the fundraising team, but more importantly, they are the first voice a donor hears and interacts with when contacting the Ranch. The Development Associate's work directly impacts the Ranch's ability to help children heal and become their best selves. The Development Associate position is not a typical administrative position. The ideal candidate must be detailed oriented, knowledgeable with computer software, and able to maintain accurate records. They must embrace the Ranch's core values of purpose, caring, and learning.
Purpose
We incorporate sustainable excellence into all our operations and energetically share the mission of the Ranch to donors and friends in truthful, uplifting, and honest ways.
- Understand and appreciate that each role played in the Foundation has a direct impact on helping at-risk children and families succeed.
- Greet and educate new donors on the work done at the Ranch
- Ask "How can I help?"
- Input data and keep donor records up-to-date and accurate.
- Provide administrative support by answering phones, ordering supplies, stocking Ranch-specific literature, correspondence, and other duties as needed.
Caring
We are quick to serve and find solutions for anyone who calls, emails or visits.
- Remember details related to the donors to be able to warmly interact with them when they call.
- Process gifts and donations and mail receipts timely and accurately.
- Have an attitude of gratitude by assisting with thank you/birthday cards to donors.
- Communicate (phone/in-person/email) in an effective and polite manner.
Learning
We stay current on best practices of charitable giving and utilize new technologies to better streamline our processes.
- Provide support to Development Officers as needed.
- Assist with special events such as luncheons, virtual events, and coordinating volunteers.
- Remain current and informed on Blackbaud RE/NXT, taking classes and webinars as needed.
To be successful in this position:
As a Development Associate, you will be utilizing computers, data-entry, and mathematical skills on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in data entry, customer relations, and fundraising (preferred).
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT, or the willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
- Proficiency in math.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to pass a background check, including criminal and abuse.
