Summary: Nurses will be working in a detoxification setting caring for patients by monitoring them, administering medications, consulting with health care providers, updating patient records, etc. Role and Responsibilities:
Record a patient’s medical history accurately.
Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
Perform routine procedures (taking vitals, administering medications etc.) and fill in patients’ charts.
Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.).
Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an RN or LPN, preferably with addiction experience and 1 years’ experience in nursing.
Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods, procedures, and terminology.
Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with hospital heath, safety and sanitation standards and procedures.
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of confidentiality obligations.
Responsible, compassionate, and able to handle stress.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Successful completion of ASN, BSN, or nursing diploma from an accredited nursing program.
Valid Ohio nursing license.
Maintains CPR/AED certification.
