Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our dental team, your core responsibilities will encompass:
Assisting Dentists During Procedures: Your role will involve providing invaluable assistance to our dentists during various dental procedures. This includes efficiently handing them instruments and materials, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment to uphold stringent hygiene standards.
Preparing Treatment Rooms: Prior to patient procedures, you will be responsible for meticulously preparing treatment rooms. This involves setting up instruments, equipment, and materials, ensuring that everything is in place for seamless patient care delivery.
Taking Dental X-rays: A crucial aspect of your role will be to perform dental x-rays as directed by the dentist. You will ensure proper positioning of patients and adherence to safety protocols to safeguard their well-being during the imaging process.
Providing Chairside Assistance: Anticipating the needs of our dentists during procedures, you will provide efficient chairside assistance. This entails managing instruments and equipment adeptly, facilitating a smooth workflow, and ensuring optimal patient comfort and care.
Educating Patients: Empowering our patients with knowledge on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions is essential. You will play a key role in educating patients, thereby promoting proactive oral health practices and enhancing overall well-being.
Sterilizing Equipment: Maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols is paramount in our practice. You will be responsible for meticulously sterilizing and disinfecting dental instruments and equipment, thereby fostering a safe and hygienic environment for both patients and staff.
Inventory Management: Efficient management of dental supplies inventory is crucial for the smooth functioning of our practice. You will assist in monitoring inventory levels and placing orders as needed to ensure adequate stock availability, contributing to seamless operations.
Administrative Tasks: Assisting with various administrative duties is also part of your role. This can include scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and updating patient records using dental software, thereby contributing to streamlined office management.
Dental Lab Assistance: Supporting dental lab tasks such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and processing dental impressions is integral to our practice. Your assistance in these areas facilitates the fabrication of dental prosthetics and enhances patient care outcomes.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Upholding a clean and organized work environment is essential in creating a positive patient experience. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining cleanliness in treatment rooms, sterilization areas, and the patient waiting area, thereby ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with completion of a dental assistant program being preferred.
X-ray Certification: Possession of a valid x-ray certification or license is mandatory for this role.
Experience: While previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred, it is not mandatory. We prioritize attitude and other soft skills over experience.
Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective patient interaction and seamless teamwork within our practice.
Team Player: The ability to collaborate effectively and assist other team members is crucial for the smooth functioning of our dental office.
Multitasking Abilities: Capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment without compromising on quality or attention to detail.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining stringent infection control standards are essential for ensuring patient safety and well-being.
Proficiency in Dental Software: Comfort and proficiency in using dental software for patient scheduling and recordkeeping tasks are required.
CPR Certification: While not mandatory, CPR certification is preferred for this role. Every two years we renew this certification together in the office.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
