Job Summary:
We are seeking a Statewide Cybersecurity Coordinator to enhance cybersecurity coordination and outreach across local governments and statewide partners. This critical role will help create and maintain a consistent approach to cybersecurity readiness, best practices, and awareness across various government levels and affiliated organizations. The position is essential for addressing vulnerabilities in local governments and other entities, providing resources and support to strengthen cybersecurity efforts statewide.
Key Responsibilities:
Advocate for and promote the adoption of cybersecurity best practices across local governments and organizations.
Leverage federal funding opportunities such as the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) to enhance cybersecurity measures.
Coordinate statewide cybersecurity efforts, ensuring alignment and collaboration among stakeholders to achieve common cybersecurity goals.
Identify cybersecurity resource gaps among local governments and propose strategic changes to improve their security posture.
Develop and deliver educational materials, workshops, and outreach programs to improve cybersecurity knowledge and readiness among local government entities and statewide partners.
Foster collaborative relationships with federal partners, state agencies, local governments, industry associations, and community organizations to drive cybersecurity initiatives.
Required Experience:
3-5 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, or coordinating large-scale initiatives, preferably within cybersecurity or public-sector projects.
A degree in a relevant field (cybersecurity, information technology, public administration, etc.) or related discipline.
Familiarity with federal programs, including managing or working with federal grants and funding mechanisms related to cybersecurity, is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, with experience in public sector operations preferred.
