Corporate VP of Compliance - Regional Director of Quality & Risk - Behavioral Health/ Psych - Remote

Med Quest Search Solutions, Inc., the nation's leading behavioral health executive search firm is conducting a new search for a Corporate VP of Compliance (Risk, Quality, PI) for a start-up, national, for-profit behavioral health organization who will operate psychiatric residential treatment facilities for adolescents across the United States that offer general to specialized PRTF services with a unique focus on developing Short-Term Residential Programs.
The Opportunity:
The Corporate VP of Compliance oversees and ensures compliance and quality improvement with all regulatory requirements and standards related to behavioral health services provided by this national multi-site behavioral health company. This will include the development, implementation, and management of compliance policies and procedures and quality initiatives which will inform practice. Additionally, the VP will provide identification of training programs to address any gaps in service delivery in order to ensure regulatory compliance and to mitigate risks. Compliance oversight will include current legacy facilities, and leading/implementing the regulatory approval process with de novo’s and/or new programming. Reporting to Corporate CEO and working closely with Corporate COO and operators, the VP position involves collaborating with various leaders, disciplines, and functions across several facilities to assess compliance needs, conduct audits, and address any identified issues. The VP will serve as a resource providing leadership and guidance on compliance matters and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
As a Corporate VP of Compliance, this position will be responsible for managing and directing system wide activities related to safety and quality assurance implemented at the facility level. Organizes the collection of information through the use of facility and corporate scorecards and reports deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Participates in system wide activities related to The Joint Commission, licensure and human rights. Oversees the facility policies and ensures policies are reviewed and updated bi-annually. Provides recommendations, guidance, and advisement of any policy, procedural, or regulatory update or change. Ensures implementation of any updated standards.
Responsible for the efficient operation of all aspects of resident complaint resolution. Knowledgeable about resident rights and works with facility level compliance to improve resident safety and satisfaction. Makes recommendations to areas with reoccurring complaints to alleviate problems. Communicates incidents and findings to Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and department managers for assessment of additional staff training needs and/or disciplinary actions.
Maintains collaborative relationships with all disciplines, operations leaders, executive team, and Board. Provide data reports and analysis to Board related to compliance. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to implement trauma-informed approach to services for residents and their families.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies. Maintains strict confidentiality and privacy of residents’ personally identifiable health and personnel information in accordance with HIPAA privacy rules, corporate, and facility policies. Meets mandatory staff development requirements per the standards of all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Requirements:
  • Multi-site Compliance and Quality Improvement experience in either an inpatient psychiatric organization, residential treatment setting, or PRTF setting.
  • Multi-site, multi-state management experience ideal.
  • Experience with doing risk assessments and gap analysis of compliance needs and developing and executing corrective action plans for improvement
  • High proficiency in developing and modifying related policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership of a compliance and quality improvement department, preferably multi-site leadership
  • Must have experience with adolescents either in an inpatient psych setting, PRTF, SUD or residential treatment setting.
  • Clinical background preferred.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Has worked in a national behavioral health organization
  • Ability to travel 2-3 nights a week on average to work on site at facilities - rest of the time you can work remotely.
  • Much experience doing similar role with multiple facilities and are at a point in their career that they are looking for an opportunity to grow into a Chief Compliance Officer position as the company grows.

This position does not require relocation but does require extensive travel to all future acquisitions and de-novos across the country.
