Clothing Associate
Description: Do you have a passion and drive to apply your talents to make a difference? The Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) Re Store in Williston is seeking a full-time Associate to support its mission of helping local families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
Department: Williston Re Store, in-person
FLSA Status: Part Time Hourly, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Part time according to store needs
Reports To: Clothing Supervisor
Supervises: None
Summary:
Clothing Associates provide excellent customer service and ensure customers and donors have a safe, positive, and rewarding experience. They work in the clothing area sorting, hanging, and baling clothing donations; cashiering, moving, and loading donations; and other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Sort and hang clothing donations as they come in, making sure to set aside any clothing not in good, sellable condition.
2. Safely and carefully operate the baler to bale any clothing not going to the sales floor so that it may be sold at bulk pricing.
3. Assist in keeping the clothing area in safe condition and free of clutter.
4. Promptly assist donors who come to drop off donations and accept or reject them based on whether the items are in good, sellable condition.
5. Greet any donors and customers and thank them for contributing to our cause and answer any questions they may have.
6. Operate the Point-of-Sale cash register system and help customers complete their purchases. While on the register, always stay within sight of the register area and front door.
7. Help to complete the daily checklist for opening and closing the store.
Secondary Responsibilities
1. Help customers carry purchases to their vehicles.
2. Sort and price donations and prepare them to go to the sales floor.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Education and Experience
The hourly rate for this part-time, in-person position is currently $15 hourly, and the position includes a 20% to Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity Re Stores.

Requirements: Job Specifications
Desired Education and Experience
- Previous experience working in a retail environment.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Able to communicate well with other staff, volunteers, and any type of visitor to the Re Store.
- Able to stay safe and away to operate a baling machine and keep the clothing area safe and walkable.
- Dependable and able to stick to a schedule.
- Excellent customer service skills to respond to any questions or concerns.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize different tasks.
- Flexibility to switch to different tasks quickly.
- Able to work as part of a team and complete tasks as they are assigned.
- Stand for long periods behind a register, traverse stairs, and navigate a busy sales floor.
- Lift, pick up, carry, place down, and bring upstairs at least 25lbs.
- Squat to pick up items from the floor and perform repetitive data entry on register and pricing motions.
- Safely operate a large baling machine, sort through clothing donations, write receipts for donors, and use a pricing tool to price merchandise.
