Position Summary The role of the Central Monitoring Tech reports to the Director of Nursing. This position is responsible for observing the cardiac rhythm of patients being monitored throughout the hospital. Essential Position Responsibilities
Observe cardiac rhythm, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure of monitored patients
Detect changes in cardiac rhythm and notify appropriate team members
Determine normal and abnormal parameters of hemodynamics and report as appropriate
Maintain a comprehensive notification log
Perform necessary patient reporting including cardiac rhythm and ordered hemodynamic monitoring
Qualifications
Education:High school diploma or GED
Licensure and Certifications:CPR, required. Dysrhythmia class, required.
Experience: Previous experience in an acute care setting, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 90% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will spend 10% of the time walking and/or standing while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs This position will be exposed to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and radiation. This position serves a cultural and linguistically diverse patient population.
