Position Summary
Supervise employees performing clinical interventions and/or case management to individuals impacted by substance use, mental health, or developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for quality and compliance review, and may carry a caseload of their own.
Essential Functions
Supervise staff to include hiring, ongoing supervision and performance management
Oversee the operation of treatment services ensuring services are provided in accordance with best practice guidelines
Monitor the provision of services to address consumer’s immediate service needs and provide direct consumer services as needed
Develop new programming in response to client needs and creates innovative methods to enhance current programming and is responsible for program evaluation and improvement
Provide or arrange for the provision of staff training to address needs identified during the annual review process and to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local standards
Assure accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Federal, state and county policies in electronic data bases and hard copy records as assigned
Advocate for the population through community education
Provide oversight and management of departmental budget
Serve as a liaison with other stakeholders and contracted providers of mental health services; shares knowledge and resources that would result in improved consumer outcomes
Participate in a variety of meetings and related committees; serves on a variety of teams; assists in developing policies and procedures; identifies and solves problems related to Division goals and outcomes
May be required to staff shelters in the event of a disaster
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of four years of experience in a related area performing substance use, mental health, and/or developmental disabilities’ case management
Education:
Master's degree in a human services field
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes
Licenses and Certifications
Depending on area of assignment, may require licensure by NC in one of the following areas: Substance Abuse Professional Certification, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCAS, LPA, LPC, First Aid Certification, and CPR Certification
Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Mecklenburg County Operator Permit
Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
