Asphalt Technician
Currently hiring for Asphalt Technicians (Level 1, 2 and 3) in Lugoff, SC. Asphalt Technicians Level 1 are responsible for performing field/laboratory tests relating to hot mix asphalt and aggregating materials. Asphalt Technician Level 2 and 3 are responsible for accurately testing and analyzing materials. Pay is $18 - $29 per hour based on skill set and experience.
Asphalt Technician Level 1 Responsibilities:
Asphalt Technician Level 1 Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain asphalt mixing equipment
- Perform material sampling of both asphalt hot mix and aggregates
- Report daily QC testing for asphalt plant production by using SCDOT quality control guidelines and report daily QC testing
- Keep accurate records of production data, material usage, and equipment maintenance.
- Review plans to ensure compliance with testing and specifications
- Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Maintaining compliance with QA/QC manual
- Follow all safety policies and PPE use
- Communicate with plant personnel to ensure quality mix
- Collect samples from roads, quarries and plant locations for evaluations
- Obtain state DOT, county, etc. materials and testing standards in a timely manner
- Prepare and test samples according to standards and specifications
- Evaluate and analyze test results
- Hot Mix Level 1 or greater
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Maintain a clear and organized working area
- Monday through Friday
- 8–10-hour shift
- Day shift
- $18 - $29 per hour based on skill set and experience
