Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Mid-Level Archaeologist. As a key member of our archaeological research and preservation efforts, you will be responsible for leading fieldwork, excavation, and analysis activities. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in archaeological methodologies, project management skills, and a passion for contributing to meaningful research initiatives. Responsibilities:
Fieldwork Leadership:
Take a lead role in archaeological field surveys, overseeing excavation activities.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior archaeologists and field technicians.
Ensure the proper implementation of field methodologies and adherence to project timelines.
Excavation and Site Management:
Lead excavation efforts, directing the identification and documentation of archaeological sites.
Manage site logistics, including safety protocols, equipment, and team coordination.
Contribute to the development and implementation of excavation strategies.
Laboratory Analysis:
Manage and coordinate laboratory activities, including artifact cleaning, cataloging, and analysis.
Oversee the preparation of comprehensive reports and presentations based on laboratory findings.
Contribute to the interpretation of data and the formulation of research conclusions.
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers to plan and execute archaeological projects.
Assist in the development of project proposals, budgets, and timelines.
Ensure effective communication and coordination with interdisciplinary project teams.
Training and Mentorship:
Provide mentorship and training to junior archaeologists and field staff.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging professional growth.
Qualifications (Education and Experience):
Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in archaeological fieldwork and laboratory analysis
Demonstrated leadership in archaeological projects, including fieldwork supervision.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in relevant archaeological software and technologies.
